Type2 Bay Main shaft bearing thrust plate
This main shaft bearing reinforcement plate is fitted between the gearbox gear section and the gearbox shift housing.
This reinforcement plate ensures that the main shaft bearing remains in place under all conditions. It also facilitates alignment of the gears, which are now in full contact, reducing the risk of problems. This plate also makes it possible to use a 2-bolt gear case on a gearbox with a 3-bolt gear case, which is often used for conversion.
Installation tip
If a reversing light switch is fitted, we recommend sanding the gear housing to 1 mm (use sandpaper on a glass plate to sand the surface). It is possible that, due to the intervention of the reinforcement plate, the reverse light switch is not sufficiently depressed. By flattening the surface by 1 mm, you avoid this risk.
