Type2 early bay shifter lock 211-016-051
Unfortunately, today we cannot do without anti-theft protection, but this was also the case in the 1950s and 1960s. Volkswagen had found a solution: an additional lock could be purchased for the gear lever, which prevented it from moving. From the year 1952 on an immobiliser was added. Volkswagen had this accessory in their catalogue until July 1967, after the model change in August of the same year they decided not to offer the lock anymore.
With the reproduction shown here we go back a step, by missing the immobilizer (only the gear lever is locked). But now we can offer this lock also for the years after 1967. The lock replaces the existing housing (including the rubber of the original gear lever) and by means of a key-lock the gear shift is blocked. The only thing you will have to buy as an extra option is a new rubber
Comes with two keys and a convenient quick release key ring. The key stays in the lock when it is not locked, thanks to this key ring it can be removed from your keychain in a quick way.
