We strongly recommend to replace the dampers per pair, to keep the trailer stable under all conditions. On tandem axle trailers we recommend to change the dampers per 4, because when just changed on 1 axle, this axle with the new dampers will hold more weight (because the new dampers are longer) and therefor be subjected to more wear.
