Type2 split bay Type1 Oil Temperature control without extra Gauge
As we know oil is the lifeblood of any engine and keeping the oil in good
condition is paramount to the well-being of your Type 1 engine
By simply replacing your original dipstick with the oil temperature
dipstick, then attaching an 18'' wire (included with the kit) to the oil pressure switch,
you can monitor your engine's oil temperature without the use of a gauge
Your oil light will now serve two functions, it will continue to operate as an
oil pressure warning light as before, but will now also become an oil temperature warning
In normal conditions your light will remain off, if the light starts flashing then your
engine temperature is getting too hot
If the light comes on solid, then your engine temperature is definitely too
hot and you should stop the engine
So now when you are chugging up a long incline or you are sat in a traffic queue
you can actually tell when the oil temperature starts to rise, and before it hits
a critical temperature you can do something about it
