Type2 Bay 74-79 Vader Steering Wheel Bay Window
Our Vader wheels are already our favourite design with anodized black aluminium spokes and black ash wood rim. 17? rim which has polished aluminium highlights. The horn push is supplied with a Wolfsburg silver and black centre. We also supply you with polished stainless and black anodized bolts so you can choose which to use as you install it.
Price includes wheel, boss, Wolfsburg horn push and all hardware (everything you need to fit!) The wheels have been cut from a single piece of aluminium, with beautiful fine spokes for the true vintage feel. Our wheels are not flat, we have gone to great lengths to dish them to 3cm to keep that period look and combined with the boss they will sit at the perfect height in your VW.
The ash wood rim has finger tapers sculpted into the back then a high grade lacquer is applied.
The boss / adapter is not cast like others, we machine them for perfect fit and also taper them so they line up neatly with your original steering column. The horn push does not get forgotten either, we have produced it with the same Wolfsburg logo as on vintage stock steering wheels but encased in billet aluminium so sits perfectly with the wheel. On the underside of the boss you will see the three threaded holes so you can fit the original indicator cancellation ring.
Do you need to select early or late bay? — 1968 to middle of 1974 you should require an EARLY BAY. After that date should require a LATE BAY.
The best way to check:
For an Early Bay, the nut that secures the steering wheel is 27mm in diameter (flat edge to flat edge). For a Late Bay, the nut that secures the steering wheel is 24mm in diameter (flat edge to flat edge)
